The directorial debut of Aditya Dhar, URI: The Surgical Strike produced by Ronnie Screwvala, took the nation by storming rave reviews and striking gold at the box office in 2018. Three National Awards were received. While a National Award for his performance was given to Vicky Kaushal, director Aditya Dhar also received the prestigious award for his direction. The trio of Vicky-Aditya-Ronnie, as the film turns two years old today, have unveiled the first imaginative look of their next collaboration, Ashwatthama, which is futuristic sci-fi, based on a character from the Mahabharata chapter.

Ashwatthama is described by Vicky Kaushal as the greatest film of his career, and he feels working with Aditya and Ronnie again is more like a homecoming for him.
