In another attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Shiv Sena on Monday asked the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP why the Modi wave was failing to tackle inflation.BJP leaders have been taunting the Sena, saying its members of Parliament were elected in large numbers in 2014 owing to the Modi wave.Taking potshots at this, an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, asked why the Modi wave could not use its power to solve the problems of the poor.The Shiv Sena has been attacking the Centre over rising fuel prices and inflation. A key constituent of the ruling National Democratic alliance, it held protest marches against the government last Saturday.The Union petroleum minister suggested that the rise in petrol and diesel was owing to storm in the US. The US storm did not result in prices rising in Europe and America, so should it affect India,The editorial asked. The Shiv Sena also slammed the Centre, saying that the growth rate reduced and the economy declined since Modi came to power.The Shiv Sena has upped the ante before its annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, where party chief Uddhav Thackeray is expected to announce his stance on backing the BJP in the state. The party is also unhappy with the BJP over rumours that its former bete noire Narayan Rane could join the party.
