Three men allegedly kidnapped a 19-year-old college student before dragging her to a field where she was gang-raped by a group of men including the abductors on Wednesday. The survivor is a former Haryana CBSE board exam topper and was even felicitated by the President of India.
Police officials said that the girl was abducted when she was on her way to a coaching class. Three men who arrived in a four-wheeler intercepted her and kidnapped her before dragging her to a field where she was gang-raped by the men and others already present at the field. The survivor was then abandoned at a bus stand near Kanina in an unconscious state. This incident from Haryana's Mahendargarh district raises serious questions at the state's law and order situation.
The woman alleged that she was going back home from her coaching center when three men kidnapped her. She was dragged to a field and gang-raped. She further said that there were other men present at the location, who took turns to rape her. Further, her parents alleged police didn't file a complaint, as the accused threatened to not pursue the matter.
Responding to the allegations, a police officer at Rewari said that a 'zero FIR' has been lodged in the case based on a complaint by the 19-year-old survivor. The officer also maintained that police is probing the matter. A zero FIR is registered at a police station under whose jurisdiction the crime did not happen, the case is later transferred to the respective station from where it is investigated accordingly.
