A village sarpanch and four others were arrested for allegedly beating up a 30-year-old Dalit man for riding a motorcycle close to his home in Madhya Pradesh Tikamgarh region. The issue became visible after a video purportedly demonstrating the episode turned into a web sensation via web-based networking media. Dayaram Ahirwar, in his grievance, claimed that on June 21, the town sarpanch, Hemant Kurmi, his siblings and one of their neighbors whipped him up seriously subsequent to questioning his riding a cruiser before their home, Deri police post associate sub-monitor (ASI) Ramsewak Jha said. The captures regarding the case were made the previous evening.
