12 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were martyred and several others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. The IED explosion targetted a CRPF bus that was part of a larger convoy.

The attack was followed by gunshots. The attack took place in Goripora area of Awantipora in district Pulwama. JEM claims responsibility for the attack.

The bus was blown up by an improvised explosive device or IED explosion on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area of the district, a police official said.
