Kollywood star Vishal is not used to having bad first days, but cinema and politics are different. The returning officer (RO) of Chennais poll-bound RK Nagar rejected the actors nomination today, on the grounds that he only had eight valid proposers-two less than the number he needed. RK Nagar, or Dr.Radhakrishnan Nagar, is the former Assembly constituency of the late J Jayalalithaa, who died a year ago today. The rejection of Vishals nomination had been announced earlier, but the actor then claimed it had been accepted after a scrutiny of a complaint with respect to signatures in the application form. The nomination that I filed has been accepted. I thank the Election Commission,he told reporters. But when returning officer K Velusamy was asked if Vishals claim was true, he told the news agency PTI that the matter was still under process.
